Hello fellow book lovers! I haven’t done a book tag in SOO long! I love book tags, they are extremely fun, especially when you guys comment down below with your answers.
I obviously didn’t get tagged on this, I’m doing it on my own free will. However, for the first time ever, I’m going to try to tag someone to do this. I choose to do this tag because I, obviously, love coffee (any caffeinated drink really) and books! So it would have been a crime if I didn’t do this tag.
Let’s start shall we!
BLACK: NAME A SERIES THAT IS HARD TO GET INTO BUT HAS HARDCORE FANS
For this one I’m going to pick the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin. It’s pretty obvious why I choose this series. The books are massive, the fonts and spacings are deathly small and they have Bible thin paper. All of the books are dinosaurs. Not only that but there is so much world building and politics, for some that might be boring. It’s a very difficult series to get into but it’s so worth it. They might be hard books to get into but the fan base is HUGE! For the TV show and the book series.
PEPPERMINT MOCHA: NAME A BOOK THAT GETS MORE POPULAR DURING THE WINTER OR FESTIVE TIME OF YEAR
Instead of picking the obvious *cough Harry Potter cough*, I’m going with My True Love Gave to Me: Twelve Holiday Stories. It’s a collection of many Christmas short stories written by many authors. This book definitely gets more popular during the winter, especially during the Holidays. I’ve never read it myself but I definitely want to…. maybe during the holidays.
DOUBLE SHOT OF EXPRESSO: NAME A BOOK THAT KEPT YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT FROM START TO FINISH
I have read a lot of books that did this to me. Its pretty easy to make me feel this way but the one that resonates me the most is Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. This book, left me freaking out from start to finish. I couldn’t deal with it, there was so much action, mystery, and suspense. I absolutely love that book and don’t take my word for it. I convinced more like forced my brother into reading Illuminae and he LOVED it. A lot more than I did actually.
STARBUCKS: NAME A BOOK YOU SEE EVERYWHERE
So basically almost every book I’ve ever bought. But seriously, if I had to choose I’d pick the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Mass. I see it everywhere. The store, online, with friends. I swear it’s haunting me because I haven’t caught up with the series yet. I’ve only read the first book and haven’t gotten to the rest. It’s not that I didn’t like it, I just haven’t picked it up.
THAT HIPSTER COFFEE SHOP: GIVE A BOOK BY AN INDIE AUTHOR A SHOUTOUT
For this I HAVE to pick one of my favorite stories by an Indie author. I choose Twisted: The Girl Who Uncovered Rumpelstiltskin’s Name by Bonnie M. Hennessy. This book managed to get on my top reads for this year. It was so good and it surprised me by how good it was. Not only was the plot amazing, the writing was poetic and I loved the main character. The only thing I wasn’t too crazy about was the guy she ends up with, I didn’t not like him but I also didn’t like him, you know what I mean? I was on neutral ground. I think you guys should seriously try this book! It’s so underhyped, I wish more people knew about it!!
OOPS! I ACCIDENTALLY GOT DECAF: NAME A BOOK YOU WERE EXPECTING MORE FROM
I’m picking Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls by Lynn Weingarten. I’m going to try to keep this short without ranting on it. Alright so this book is about a girl named June who finds out that her friend Delia had committed suicide. However, June believes that Delia never committed suicide and trys to uncover the mystery… At least I think that’s the plot. I’m not sure anymore to be honest. I had such high hopes for this book, and it just went to shit. I’m not going to say any specifics but you can read my review of it on Goodreads.
THE PERFECT BLEND: NAME A BOOK THAT WAS BOTH BITTER AND SWEET, BUT ULTIMATELY SATISFYING
The only book/series that comes to mind is the Six of Crows duology. It was AMAZINGLY, AMAZING! I loved it so much but it tore my heart out in the end. I still haven’t recovered from the feels. It placed me in a book slump, I couldn’t stop thinking about this series, the characters, and how bad I wanted the author to BURN because it was so good but heart wrenching. If you haven’t read this duology I recommend it, 110%!
GREEN TEA: NAME A BOOK OR SERIES THAT IS QUIETLY BEAUTIFUL
This is kind of stupid of me but I’m not sure what “quietly beautiful” means but I’ll try to answer the question. I’m guessing it’s a beautiful book that doesn’t have action/drama in it? Comment and tell me if I’m wrong, I’m pretty sure I am. For this question I choose My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult. Its about this girl who was born to save her older sister, who has leaukemia. Her parents had scientists create her in a dish so that she’d be a perfect match for her sister. But then one day, she decides to sue her parents for the rights to her own body.
I honestly loved this book, I read it when I was in 5th grade and then again during 6th. Its such a moving and beautiful story. I’m thinking about rereading it again, it left me raw when I was a child imagine what it would do to me now! FEELS CENTRAL!
CHAI TEA: NAME A BOOK OR SERIES THAT MAKES YOU DREAM OF FAR OFF PLACES
I couldn’t not pick Harry Potter. Honestly, I feel like almost everyone would choose this series. To be able to do magic, and discover new and magical worlds is astonishing. It’s every book worms dream! I’m getting teary eyed just thinking about the fact that its NOT REAL!
EARL GRAY: NAME YOUR FAVORITE CLASSIC
This is kind of hard because I don’t read many classics, but I wish I did. So far I think my favorite classic is Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. However, I think that if I read Jane Eyre I’ll like that more. But so far, that’s my favorite classic.
Alright that’s a wrap folks!! I had so much fun doing this tag! As I promised, I tag Meredith from @Meredithreads. However, I also tag anyone that wants to do this! Send me a link to your post when you publish it, I’d love to see it!
How do you take your coffee? Or are you more a tea person? If so, what’s your favorite tea? I’m starting to drink tea more so I’d love some recommendations! Also out of curiosity, what book were you expecting more from? If you’ve read Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls, what did you think about it?
