Hello fellow book lovers! Who saw the new Beauty and the Beast movie?! I saw it the day it came out and ever since then I’ve been obsessed. It’s amazing and whoever hasn’t seen it, I recommend you do!
So in honor of the movie (and my newly found obsession) I’m doing this book tag! Feel free to answer these questions in the comments or in your own post and tell me. I’d love to see your answers!
Let’s start shall we?
A book you bought for its beautiful cover that is just as beautiful inside too
I’d be damned if I don’t pick Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I bought the book mostly because of its gorgeous cover. But don’t be fooled this book is beautiful inside and out! Its one of my ultimate favorite series.
A book you didn’t expect much from but pleasantly surprised you
For this, I’ll choose Replica by Lauren Oliver. I had gotten Replica as an ARC when I went to B-Fest last year and I wasn’t that into reading it. However, I did eventually picked it up and, boy, I was surprised. I liked it way more than I thought I would.
A book everyone loves but you don’t
A book that everyone seemed to love or at least like that I don’t would be Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard. I loved Red Queen and was so excited to read Glass Sword but it disappointed me. The main thing being that Mere was extremely annoying and I can’t read a book where I hate the main character.
A loyal sidekick character you can’t help but love more than their counterpart
I’m pretty sure a couple of people would agree with me when I say that I love Iko from The Lunar Chronicles more than Cinder. Don’t get me wrong, Cinder is bad ass and I love her, but Iko is amazing. She always raises everyone’s spirits, she’s funny, and loyal. She’s amazing and one of the best sidekicks I’ve seen.
Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumiere and Cogsworth
A book that helped you through a difficult time or taught you something valuable
I read this book around 3 years ago and it still resonates with me today and that is, Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. Before I Fall taught me that no matter how little or seemingly harmless action you take it eventually affects someone. It was such an eye opening story and I recommend you should read it, especially since the movie adaptation is out.
“Tale as Old as Time”
A popular theme, trope, or setting you’ll never get bored of reading
Not sure if this counts but I’m using it anyway because I can’t think of anything. I will never get bored of reading retellings. There’s something about seeing another persons rendition of a popular fairy tale that always draws me in.
A book or series that you weren’t into at first but picked up towards the end
Wow, this is kind of embarrassing, but I don’t have an answer. When I don’t like a first book to a series I tend to not pick up the rest. Here’s what we’ll do, I want you guys to answer this question in the comments. Were there any books or series that you weren’t that into but picked up towards the end?
“Be Our Guest”
A fictional character you’d love to have over for dinner
This is a very tough question, I would love to meet a lot of characters. I would say Kaz but I feel like we won’t get along, which is weird because I love him. I just don’t think he’ll love me or tolerate me for that matter!
I’ll choose a character that’s not exactly from a book but is still connected to books and that character is Belle. Very appropriate, don’t you think?
I’d love to have Belle over for dinner, I feel like we can talk hours upon hours about books and I’ll ask her questions about life as a beloved Disney princess and about the Beast. Oh! Maybe I can meet the Beast too!
